For the first time in our nation’s history, the United States has recently run multiple trillion dollar deficits. Our debt is $19 trillion and climbing each day. If our debt were divided up, each person in America would owe more than $60,000 – far more than the median household income in Illinois.  As the cost-of-living increases, families are forced to tighten their belts. Unfortunately, the politicians in Springfield always go to hard-working taxpayers and small businesses to pay more without any effort to reduce wasteful government spending first. Taxpayers are not a one-stop-shop to fix the failures of government. Donna will limit government spending and make Illinois a tax-friendly state for families and small business owners to thrive.

2022 Promise: We have great opportunities to develop our economy, but the financial issues Illinois faces continue to threaten the stability of our business climate.

Businesses are leaving the state and choosing to grow elsewhere. The General Assembly must prove it can manage our finances (as every family household does) and get them under control to show stability and good faith. We can begin to reverse negative trends, which will stimulate growth and create jobs. Creating jobs grows our tax base rather than our tax rate.

DONNA ON TAXES:
“Illinois citizens are currently bearing one of the highest tax burdens in the country. With Illinois suffering businesses moving out-of-state, I do not believe we should tax and spend our way out of all the looming debt. It is too hard on the citizens who are staying in Illinois, and it only perpetuates all of Illinois’ issues.”

Support of Small Businesses with reduced taxes (not more IRS agents complicating the lives of Small Business Owners) the So-called Inflation Reduction Act”.

Open, fair, and honest elections are the bedrock of our democratic institutions. Every eligible American citizen deserves to have faith that their vote will be reliably counted in order to preserve a government that is truly by the people, for the people.  Donna is committed to the promotion and appropriate oversight dedicated to making elections transparent again. She supports any effort to identify common-sense, bipartisan reforms at the state level and fight a federal takeover of our elections.

Parental Rights to secure their children’s education with their tax dollars and notification dealing with their children’s health, safety and education.

Supporting Our Law Enforcement Professionals through funding, legislation and community program initiatives.

Supporting Our Veterans, especially those suffering from PTSD and their continued job support, and health concerns.

I am grateful to every Illinois veteran, and every veteran in this country, for their selfless response to the call to serve. As the wife of an Air Force veteran, I understand the sacrifices veterans and their families make. This is why fighting for veterans is so important to me.

If voted in office, Donna will defend our 2nd Amendment rights and fight against any bills brought forth in the name of “public safety” and aimed at criminalizing legal gun owners.
